The plumage here is greenish, which is another reason for the name. Some even say that the ‘face’ of this sea slug is like a sheep, with a lovely plumage and pinkish cheeks. They hence make for more interesting pictures and videos as well. They have two dark eyes and two rhinophores that emerge from the tops of their heads that look not unlike sheep's ears or insect antennae, hence the common name 'leaf sheep'. The leaf or sheep sea slug actually looks quite pretty when the algae are processing inside of it. Discovered in 1993 off the coast of the Japanese island Kuroshima, Costasiella kuroshimae have been found in the waters near Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

They range in size from 5 mm to 1 cm in length. While the ocean is full of species yet to be discovered, from what I have researched, there aren’t any plants known to walk underwater. These might not be the only animals that are able to perform photosynthesis, but the pool remains a very small one. They’re located near the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia. Costasiella kuroshimae are shell-less marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusks in the family Costasiellidae. The size of the leaf sheep is quite tiny, not much more than a length of around 5 mm on average. Costasiella kuroshimae-also known as a 'leaf slug', 'leaf sheep', or 'salty ocean caterpillar'-is a species of sacoglossan sea slug.
